SCDF deploys 80 firefighters to tackle large warehouse fire involving chemicals in Tuas

SINGAPORE: About 80 firefighters and 20 emergency vehicles were deployed after a fire broke out at an industrial warehouse in Tuas in the early hours of 12 June 2026.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted to the blaze at 3 Gul Crescent at about 3am.

The warehouse, about the size of a football field, caught fire, prompting the use of seven water jets, two firefighting machines and an aerial monitor.

In an update issued at about 7.44am, SCDF said the fire, involving waste materials and chemicals, had been contained within the warehouse and was under control.

No injuries had been reported at the time of the latest update.

According to SCDF’s latest annual statistics, there were 125 fires at industrial premises in 2025, up 27.5 per cent from 98 cases in 2024.

Industrial fires formed part of 471 non-residential fire calls attended by SCDF in 2025, compared with 415 the previous year.

Fires of electrical origin accounted for 43.5 per cent of non-residential fires.
