Two elderly residents found dead in separate Bedok and Ang Mo Kio flats
Two elderly Singaporeans were found dead alone in their flats in Bedok and Ang Mo Kio on 13 June, after neighbours alerted authorities to foul odours coming from the units.

Two elderly residents were found dead in separate Housing Board flats in Bedok and Ang Mo Kio on 13 June, after neighbours alerted authorities to foul odours coming from their units, according to Shin Min Daily News and Stomp.
Police said a 66-year-old man was found motionless in his unit at Block 554 Bedok North Street 3 and pronounced dead at the scene. The flat is located on the 10th floor of the block.
Police confirmed receiving a call for assistance at the Bedok address at about 5.50pm on 13 June. Preliminary investigations have ruled out foul play, and the police said investigations are ongoing.
Neighbours describe Bedok resident as quiet and private
A neighbour surnamed Huang, 77, told Shin Min Daily News she first noticed a strong smell on 11 June and initially thought food had spoiled in her own flat. She said she searched her home but could not find the source, and only later learnt that the smell had come from the unit below.
Another resident, surnamed Luo, 78, said he had spoken with the deceased about two weeks before his death and that the man had appeared to be in good spirits at the time.
Neighbours described the man as someone who lived alone and largely kept to himself, though he was occasionally seen buying food and tending to plants and fish near the block.
Second body found hours later in Ang Mo Kio
Later that night, an elderly woman was found dead in her flat at Block 508 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 8, on the third floor of the block, Shin Min Daily News reported.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it received a call for assistance at the address at about 10.20pm on 13 June. A spokesperson said the woman was pronounced dead at the scene by a paramedic.
A neighbour identified as Kartik, 35, said he had noticed an unusual smell from the unit the previous day but did not pay much attention to it at the time, as he was leaving home.
Another resident, 101-year-old Madam Deng, said the woman had lived alone in the flat for at least six years and rarely interacted with neighbours, although she was often seen spending time alone downstairs.
Madam Deng said the woman had an elder brother living in a nursing home, adding that she was unsure whether he had been informed of his sister's death.
Both cases remain under investigation, with police and the SCDF yet to release further details on the circumstances of the two deaths.
