A video showing a motorbike vlogger in Bangladesh throwing a young boy into a field following a heated confrontation on a rural road has gone viral on the social media platform X.
The 15-second clip shows the biker, who runs a YouTube channel under the name BillahVau, stopping on a quiet rural road surrounded by lush green fields. A group of children gather around him and begin interacting with him as he continues recording on his camera.
Moments later, one of the boys, seen wearing an Argentina jersey with orange-coloured shorts, repeatedly pesters and pushes the rider, and the exchange soon turns tense. At one point, the boy takes out his slippers, appearing to threaten to hit the biker with them. Other boys then charge towards him.
As the situation escalates, the biker grabs the boy by both arms and flings him off the roadside into the grassy field below.
The viral 15-second clip is an excerpt from a longer video, running more than 12 minutes, which was uploaded to the biker's own social media account on 4 July. The full video has since received nearly one million likes and close to 17,000 comments.
The footage originates from the vlog of BillahVau, a motorbike vlogger based in Bangladesh who frequently posts clips in which he is seen arguing with groups of young men.
The longer video also contains several similar segments showing the biker throwing other children who had gathered around him. It cannot be confirmed whether these scenes are scripted.
Following the clip's circulation, a number of social media users have suggested the footage may have been staged, noting that many of the vlogger's videos feature similar confrontations and altercations.
Fact-check findings
DFRAC, a fact-checking organisation, investigated the viral claim and found it to be false. In a post on X, the organisation said its analysis of the video identified the watermark of the YouTube channel Billah Vau. A keyword search on YouTube led investigators to the same channel, where multiple videos featuring similar staged scenarios are available.
DFRAC said the channel presents its content as being created for entertainment purposes, indicating that the videos are scripted and fictional rather than recordings of real-life events. The organisation concluded: "The viral claim is false. The circulating video is a scripted entertainment clip originally uploaded by the YouTube channel Billah Vau and does not depict a real incident."
