Two elderly women are assisting police investigations after a confrontation at a coffee shop in Serangoon escalated into a physical fight on the evening of 22 June, leaving one woman hospitalised and another with minor injuries.
Videos circulating on Facebook show the pair exchanging heated words before the dispute turned violent. The footage captures both women striking each other, falling to the ground, and continuing to grapple despite repeated attempts by bystanders to separate them.
According to the Singapore Police Force, officers received a call for assistance at Block 261 Serangoon Central at about 7.55pm on 22 June.
Police said a 69-year-old woman was conveyed conscious to hospital, while a 65-year-old woman sustained minor injuries but declined to be taken to hospital.
Both women are assisting with police investigations, which remain ongoing.
Videos uploaded to Facebook on 24 June by user Ellen Teo show the altercation unfolding in stages.
In the first video, one elderly woman, seated on a personal mobility aid (PMA) and wearing a pink top, is seen arguing loudly with another woman dressed in blue and using a walking stick.
During the verbal exchange, the woman on the PMA points upwards and can be heard saying "CCTV" while addressing the other woman.
The confrontation escalates when the woman with the walking stick raises it and thrusts it towards the seated woman's midsection.
The woman on the PMA then stands up, attempts to wrestle the walking stick away, and throws a punch towards the other woman's jaw.
Moments later, both women lose their balance and fall to the ground.
Despite the fall, the pair continue struggling while seated on the floor, grabbing at one another and exchanging further blows.
The videos also show bystanders attempting to intervene as the fight continues.
One woman wearing purple rushes towards the pair and appears to assist the woman who had been using the PMA.
In another moment, a bystander is seen pulling the hair of the woman carrying the walking stick while another woman attempts to restrain the other participant by holding her arm.
The restraint proves unsuccessful, with the woman breaking free before the confrontation resumes with both women exchanging slaps.
A second video shows the altercation continuing despite efforts by a man and another woman to separate the pair.
The two women remain locked in a struggle as those nearby repeatedly attempt to calm the situation and pull them apart.
Initial online reports did not identify when or where the incident occurred, although a Community Development Council (CDC) voucher sign visible in the background suggested the footage had been recorded at a Singapore coffee shop.
Police subsequently confirmed the incident occurred at Block 261 Serangoon Central on the evening of 22 June.
The circumstances leading to the dispute have not been disclosed.
Police have not announced any arrests or charges in connection with the incident.
Investigations remain ongoing.
The incident attracted significant attention on social media after the videos were widely shared.
Many online commenters focused on the mobility aids used by the two women rather than the circumstances of the altercation.
Comments included remarks questioning why one participant was using a personal mobility aid if she was able to stand and fight, while others joked about the confrontation by comparing it to a contest between a PMA and a walking stick.
Some online users responded humorously to the footage, posting remarks about the women's apparent determination to continue fighting despite their age and mobility aids.
Others questioned why bystanders appeared to wait until the altercation had become physical before attempting to separate the women.

The incident also prompted discussion on Reddit, where one commenter claimed to be a neighbour of both women and offered an account of their backgrounds and the events leading up to the confrontation.
According to the commenter, the woman using the PMA is a retired nurse who is able to walk but uses the mobility aid because of weight-related mobility issues and weakened knees. The commenter described her as friendly and knowledgeable about medical matters.
The same commenter alleged that the other woman was known within the neighbourhood for gossiping and claimed she had previously fallen out with other residents.
