39-year-old man charged after weapons including homemade crossbows found in Potong Pasir flat
Police in Singapore charged a 39-year-old man after discovering a cache of weapons in a Potong Pasir flat. Officers responding to reports of projectiles being fired found crossbows, firearms, and over 100 arrows. Further charges may follow.

A 39-year-old man was charged on 8 April 2026 with one count of weapon possession after police responded to a projectile-related incident in Potong Pasir.
According to a police statement, officers were alerted at around 10am on 6 April 2026 to reports of someone firing projectiles from a Housing Board flat.
Officers from the Ang Mo Kio Division attended the scene and arrested the suspect shortly after.
Court documents stated that the man allegedly possessed three homemade crossbows and eight bows in a unit at Block 108 Potong Pasir Avenue 1.
Police described the items found as a “substantial cache” of prohibited weapons and equipment.
Among the seized items were 119 arrows, 12 knives, four BB guns, three slingshots, two pneumatic rifles, a stun device and an extendable baton.
BB guns are designed to fire metallic or plastic pellets, while pneumatic rifles use compressed air to discharge projectiles.
Manufacturing equipment uncovered
Officers also recovered a 3D printer and 17 rolls of printing filament from the flat.
Authorities believe the equipment may have been used to manufacture parts of the weapons found on the premises.
No further details were disclosed regarding the extent of the manufacturing activity.
Police indicated that additional charges could be considered under the Guns, Explosives and Weapons Control Act.
The case is scheduled to be mentioned again in court on 6 May 2026.
For a first-time offence of weapon possession, an individual may face up to five years’ imprisonment and a minimum of six strokes of the cane.
Repeat offenders may receive up to eight years’ imprisonment along with at least six strokes of the cane.
