Malaysian man allegedly slashes motorcyclist for sounding horn at him, arrested
A motorcyclist was injured after allegedly being attacked with a meat cleaver by another rider on a motorcycle lane along Malaysia's Federal Highway. Police said the incident occurred after the victim sounded his horn at a rider who was believed to be blocking his path.

MALAYSIA: A motorcyclist was injured after allegedly being attacked by another rider on a motorcycle lane along the Federal Highway in Shah Alam, Selangor.
According to Shah Alam district police chief Assistant Commissioner Sarudin Samah, authorities received an emergency call through the MERS 999 hotline at 8.19 am on 11 June 2026 regarding the incident.
Preliminary investigations found that the incident occurred at around 7 am while the 45-year-old victim was riding to work in Kuala Lumpur.
Police said the victim sounded his horn at another motorcyclist who was believed to be obstructing his path while travelling along the motorcycle lane near Section 13.
Rider allegedly attacked with meat cleaver
According to investigators, the other rider, a 43-year-old Malaysian man, allegedly became dissatisfied with the action.
Police said the suspect then stopped by the roadside and allegedly attacked the victim using a meat cleaver.
According to Berita Harian, the victim sustained injuries to his head, back of the neck, arm and hand during the incident.
He was taken to Shah Alam Hospital for treatment and was reported to be in stable condition.
Suspect arrested
Police said the suspect was subsequently arrested to assist with investigations.
The case is being investigated under Section 324 of Malaysia's Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt with a dangerous weapon.
If convicted, the offence carries a penalty of up to 10 years' imprisonment, a fine, whipping, or a combination of the punishments.
